Primarily the urge to pick up the guitar was fuelled by the strong wave of solid rock and hard rock music that was released in the early 90:ies and which are now considered classics; Guns n’ Roses Use Your Illusion albums, Metallica’s black album, AC/DC’s Razors edge, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Nirvana etc etc.He actually started out by taking courses in classical guitar (nylon string) but soon was found handling both the electric guitar and the steel string acoustic.While exploring the music at the time and in turn discovering their roots, Johan soon found himself listening to the old classic rock music of the 60s and 70s. To then discover the true foundation of rock music, blues and rhythm and blues, Johan discovered the music that would become a solid foundation in his musicianship: Elmore James, Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf, Albert Collins, BB King etc,Soon after learning the basics of guitar playing Johan was one of the former of a cover band together with a couple of his friends that was called “Bluerhythm”. One of the other members was Andreas, who acctually started out as the bass player.The second band Johan played in was called “Browser” which was a band formed by remaining members from another band “Pipelake”, who had recently broke up. Browser played original music featuring Johan as the lead guitar player. After a couple of years Browser was eventually dissolved.Johan and Andreas then started to play guitar together, mainly acoustic, since the option of letting go off music was not an alternative.
