That’s the clue; he has never finished with his musical exploration and always enjoys a new good band or artist.At the age of 14 Johan and another friend Fredrik, who was a drummer, needed a bass-player to jam with and asked Andreas, i.e. forced him, to play the bass. Not to disappoint his friends Andreas of course started to play the bass. The three guys there after started to jam in the basement in the home of Fredrik and his parents. Soon after this they got to know Gustav and Victor and the band BlueRhythm was founded.As a bass-player Andreas wanted to learn more and soon got into the world of jazz-music. He then took some bass-lessons by the Swedish bass-player Patrik Albin at the institute of Jazz in Malmö. Andreas started to explore great bass-players like Jaco Pastorius and Charlie Mingus but also found an interest in the saxophone player Charlie Parker. This interest in jazz-music led him to his second band. When around 20 years old he joined a funk-rock band with three other guys with the ambition of playing both pubs and smaller clubs. Sadly, the band broke up due to unknown reasons. This led to a hiatus in music for Andreas when he started studying.Some years went by and Andreas decided to sell the bass. He felt that he needed to write song which he more could relate to. And to write songs you need? Exactly, a guitar! He bought a used acoustic guitar, the Yamaha CJ-838 which can be seen below, and started to write songs and playing guitar with the other guitar-player, in dePhaser, Johan. After a while the two guitar-players felt that a band would be great and shortly there after Andreas met Hans and the two made plans to form a band, which was dePhaser!Musical influences:As mentioned above Andreas taste in music has really differed over the years. After looking back on the music he has always had a strong need for a good melody in a song, no matter what the genre is.Black Stone Cherry, Chris Isaak, Alter Bridge, Diana Krall, Fuel, Goo Goo Dolls, Journey, Michelle Branch, Opeth, Tina Dico, Prine STH, Shinedown, and the Wallflowers are some of the artists and bands that have influenced Andreas and his music.
